fun facts friday

April 6, 2012

1. In case you’re wondering, sushi last night was uh-mazing. Like seriously, I want it again tonight for dinner.

2. If you live near a Fresh Market, I want you to email me – like NOW! I have some LOVE to spread to you. Yes, you! Don’t be shy.

3. I’m probably sleeping right now. Well, if I’m lucky I’m still sleeping right now (that is if you’re reading this in the wee hours of the morning). I kind of (okay really) love working in a school – Good Friday off! Heck yeah.

4. No school = pancakes for breakfast.

5. You’ve probably seen this a thousand times, but it is just so hilarious that I cannot NOT show it to you.

peeta-phone (1)

6. Will you still be my friend if I tell you I am OBSESSED with the new Justin Bieber song? My bestie and I were talking yesterday about how we feel kind of lame and pretty much weirdos for enjoying his 18 year old voice so much.

7. When you were little, did the Easter Bunny always visit you? Did you dye eggs? We did! We would dye eggs on Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday I would gorge myself on chocolate. No shame.

8. Today I am going to finally fold the laundry that has been sitting on my guest room bed for the last two weeks. And then I’m going to start new laundry so the process can happen all over again. Susie Homemaker over here.

9. I totally got turned around today when I was driving to dinner. I’m usually pretty gifted in the direction department (true story). However, today I thought whatever direction I was going in was automatically north when I was looking at a map. Uhhh, I was going south. I got lost. I was late for dinner. #fail

10. It’s the weekend – Happy Friday!

Yup, definitely dyed eggs as a kid. I’m so jealous you and my hubs both have today off while I’m stuck at the office. I’ll try not to seek comfort in Reese’s eggs, but no promises. ;)

:) My husband told me I was a jerk when I told him last night I didn’t have school today. Mainly because he is SO incredibly tired since he started working again last week (he owns a landscaping company). I found him asleep on the couch when I got home at 8:30 last night. Poor guy!

Heck to the yes for Good Friday! ….I do think it is good to have off- seriously for goodness sake it’s pretty darn important! I hope your pancake breakfast was rocking and that you are enjoying your day, Ms Susie Homemaker!
I miss dying eggs, decorating sugar cookies, and baking for the family Easter feast! Maybe if I go home my mom will dye eggs with me- if I asked I KNOW she would jump at the chance to treat me like her little girl again.
PS- we are DONE with testing….. and my kids kicked some serious bum! SOOOOOOO PROUD of their amazing brains!

I’m glad to hear you got your sushi fix in, as did I on Wednesday!- the hubby and I want to make it ourselves though sometime soon :) We use to dye Easter eggs every year, go on a hunt, and consume tons of chocolate… I may or may not still eat a ton of chocolate ;)

Claire @ Live and Love to Eat April 6, 2012 at 11:24 am

I e-mailed you because I’m going on vacation and The Fresh Market is on my to-do list! ;) I love the new JB song too - no shame.

Yay for having a day off! I wish more workplaces recognized Good Friday/Easter as a holiday too! And I love that Peeta text even more so now that I just finished reading the first book/seeing the movie! And you should still dye eggs and eat plenty of chocolate!! I plan on doing that myself this weekend :)

<3 Justin Bieber's song. It's okay because he's trying to grow up & sound like JT who also once was the heart throb of all the teeny boppers. Also, thanks for the reminder to do some laundry!

Reply

Anna @ The Guiltless Life April 6, 2012 at 11:56 am

Hahahahaha I haven’t seen that Peeta/Katniss text yet. I have seen a poster advertising them as the hottest new couple - like Brangelina and Bennifer - except their name would be Peeniss. Ah, it was the immature side of me that laughed at that.

I had sushi last night too. Dinner of champions!!!

Aw, used to love coloring Eggs and then hunting for the plastic ones hidden around the yard on Easter morning. Here’s a natural way to color eggs: boil fruit/veggies/spices (red cabbage, blueberries, beets, tumeric, etc.) for dye.

I am the absolute worst with directions! Whenever I go to the beach I always think the ocean is the opposite way. My husband will ask me wherever we are in town and ask me where the ocean is. I’m wrong. Every time. We live close-ish to the ocean so this is not a rare thing. Still wrong. My sense of direction is OFF.

Carrie @ Lift Eat Repeat April 6, 2012 at 1:19 pm

Not gonna lie, Im pretty horrible with directions. Whenever I have to go downtown I always get lost!

I always ate way too much candy as a kid- how could you not! I loved the jelly belly jelly beans! I always hated when I found hard boiled eggs in the egg hunt instead of ones filled with candy!

Reply

Courtney April 6, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Oh, the Easter bunny always visited! And always brought SO much candy! I absolutely love Easter and the traditions that go along with it! :) Enjoy yours!

I just moved and cannot find a grocery store I like, especially coming from a city with the worlds largest whole foods. I’ve currently resorted to Walmart for produce (it’s that bad). BUT I just saw yesterday a fresh market is being built right by my apartment. I had never heard of one before!

Happy friday indeed!!! Hope you have a lovely easter weekend! I’ve actually not heard the peeta song before (obviously I live in a hole when I have assignments due haha)…but it really made me laugh!

I’m pretty good with directions, too - I feel like you should be just to get you through life haha. Miiiinus the incident of me coming out of the bathroom yesterday…I forgot which bathroom I was in and got turned around…yes, I’m pretty cool.

I’m so not a laundry folder. I actually had a little argument with the husband yesterday saying how he hasn’t mopped a floor in the whole time we’ve been together and he’s like “ugh, pretty sure you don’t ever fold laundry.” Got me there husband, got me there.

I’m terrible at laundry folding and directions. But I can eat pancakes on days off like a champ.

Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope April 8, 2012 at 7:04 am

I am the worst with my sense of direction. Every time I go to Trader Joe’s, I literally have to drive to my brother’s old house, THEN go to TJ’s just because it’s easier to get there from his place. So sad haha ;)
