hodge podge of eats

February 27, 2013

How about a hodge podge of eats that occurred over the weekend? I didn’t take any pictures of my food yesterday because I didn’t think I’d be home to write a post. Lo and behold, the snow actually did me some good. My class was cancelled and I got to come home right after school. It was awesome. Keep on snowin’ Chicago!

Yay! Snow can really work in your favor every now and then!

That baked potato looks amazing. And I know what you are saying about that flavor of gum..it is GOOD! I am addicted to gum and I definitely tend to go for the fruity flavors :) .

I’m an ex gum addict. Mainly because I rarely buy gum anymore because of my addiction!

McCallisters is so good! We had it all the time in college! I also really like that flavor of gum. Usually I’m a mint person but I can’t get enough of that one :-)

That’s so nice your class got cancelled! Where’d you get your sushi from?! I’ve been thinking about hitting up Whole Foods to get some veggie rolls.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey February 27, 2013 at 6:43 pm

Whole Foods! It’s the best. I think I’m going to get some on Friday again. I always get the veggie rolls and the snack avocado roll. On my way home, I ate half of the avocado roll (you get 12 pieces) for my after school snack and then had the other half with my veggie rolls. Deeeeelish!

Potato looks delicious! I’ve been enjoying sprouted grain toast from the WFM bakery, turkey meatballs & kale, and lots and lots of oranges.

cleaneatingchelsey February 27, 2013 at 6:43 pm

I’ve been really into oranges right now too!! I actually have one in my purse lol!

I’m such a gum fiend! I usually finish off a pack in a day and end up with major stomach cramps. I’ll never learn…

Reply

Which is why I NEVER buy it anymore - lol!!!

Last night was make your own Chipotle burrito bowl in our house and it was heavenly! I’ve been craving sweets this week (which is not normal for me) and I’ve eaten too much froyo, oh well. Totally delicious.

Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola February 27, 2013 at 12:23 pm

Yay for a snow day! That must have been a welcome surprise! And chili in a baked potato sounds delish! I need to recreate that soon! I recently discovered pre-cut fresh sweet potato fries at the grocery store which are kind of amazing- a little olive oil and salt and pop them in the oven… bam, healthy fries with no knife required!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey February 27, 2013 at 6:46 pm

Just a snow day from grad class, not from work unfortunately!

Reply

Amanda @ .running with spoons. February 27, 2013 at 2:43 pm

I always get so jealous when I hear of people getting snow days. We can be in the middle of a blizzard up here, yet things will still go on as usual. Blah. Crazy Canadians.

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey February 27, 2013 at 6:46 pm

It was only a snow day from grad class, not school/work. Booooo.

Anna @ Your Healthy Place February 27, 2013 at 6:38 pm

Your sushi plate looks EXACTLY like mine. My go-to order is yam and avocado roll with either a kappa or oshinko maki roll on the side. I can’t exactly tell from the pic, but yours looks pretty spot on! I’m back in Vancouver for a week helping my mom move house so have been gorging myself on sushi because it is so readily available and so affordable here. Gotta make the most of it!

Reply

Amber K February 27, 2013 at 7:21 pm

I’m glad we haven’t been getting any snow. Now if it could just warm up so I’m not so cold all the time!

I love your sushi date with yourself! I need to remember to do that when I’m home alone since I love me some sushi! I finally tried some of Whole Foods sushi last weekend and was impressed. Lately I’ve been loving homemade frozen yogurt with bananas. I know, it’s not as good as the real stuff but it’s been hitting the spot when I’m craving something sweet after dinner!

Reply

Maureen @ Breaking Free & Finding Me February 28, 2013 at 2:56 pm

YUM! all of your eats look amazing! I’ve been loving sushi, iced coffee/lattes, and overnight oats lately!
