color in motion 5k

May 30, 2014

I’ll tell you one thing, I thought I would be doing a lot more running after the girls were born. I love to run. It was one of my favorite pastimes before I got pregnant. Now? I still love it, but I have trouble finding energy to devote to it. It’s much easier to pop in a DVD and let someone on the screen kick my butt rather than going out, hitting the pavement, and kicking my own. I had grand plans of perhaps running a half marathon this upcoming fall, and now I just have to laugh at that suggestion. I’m nowhere near ready for that!

I am ready to get back into racing though, and I’m starting with an insanely fun one – the Color in Motion 5k that is taking place in Chicago on June 22. The Color in Motion 5k pairs a 5k with a laid back attitude. You don’t have to be an avid runner to participate in this race. I’m planning on showing up (wearing a lot of white so I can become a rainbow of colors by the end of the race) and just having fun with Katie who is running ( and walking/skipping/jumping) the 5k with me!

The Color in Motion 5k benefits the Special Olympics of Illinois, which I love. I’m glad to be participating in a race that works with such a great charity! Not only am I running on the 22nd, but you can run with me and Katie as well! Color in Motion is giving away one free registration to one of you! This prize pack will include free registration, sunglasses (to keep all that color from going into your eyes AND you’ll look pretty cool), and a Color in Motion 5k swag bag. If you’re in the Chicagoland area, this would be such a fun race to do!

Not only are they giving away a free registration, but right now Color in Motion has a discount code for you to unlock a $30 registration fee. Right now the race costs $38.25, and the prices are set to increase any day. All you have to do is type in “cleaneats” at the check out.

Feel free to comment below letting me know you would like to enter this giveaway. I will choose a winner on Tuesday, June 3 in the morning. Good luck!

This is actually a really big goal race for me. Goal? Come out as COLORFUL AS POSSIBLE! If we have to back track and re-color ourselves, so be it! Hahaha so excited!!!!

The Color Run is SO much fun! I did one last year with my cousin and we had an absolute blast. I’m hoping after the babies are born, I’ll be able to do one again!

I live In Indianapolis but would LOVE to go to Chicago for this run. I ran a 10k in Chicago last summer and it was so neat running in a new-to-me city!

How FUN! And even better that you get to do it with Katie! I did a color run for the first time last summer, and I had such a blast. Not sure if this giveaway is for any location, but I’ll enter with the hopes that it is. :)

I’m so glad to hear you’re doing a race that benefits Special Olympics of Illinois! I assistant coach a young adults Special Olympics soccer team through my local special recreation association in the Chi burbs…we qualified for the state-wide tournament and are heading downstate to compete later this month. :)

I just completed a mud run and have become addicted to these kinds of races. I would love the opportunity to win this package and give it a go. I’m a new runner, setting small goals for myself and finishing a 5k running is one of them.
