reader survey results!

November 26, 2014

I am not going to lie, I was pretty nervous about putting a survey out there for you all to take. I don’t even know why I was nervous because I have the best readers in the entire world. The entire time I was reading through all of the comments you all left me, I was almost in tears because you were all so so kind. I thought it would be fun to go through the questions and show you the results!

How long have you been reading Clean Eating Chelsey?

image

I was shocked to see that the majority of you have been reading for 1-2 years, and that so many of you have been reading for over two years! I started this blog a little over four years ago, so it’s nice to have such loyal readers who have been along for the ride and seen so many changes throughout the years.

From what device do you typically read from?

image

Let me preface this with saying I did NOT mean to leave you Android users out. ;) This was a mistake on my part, and I should have used a more general term. Don’t worry, I won’t block Android users from reading from their phone - ha!

How do you know when a new post has been added?

image

The majority of you either get an update from a blog library website or get an email because you’ve subscribed. 33% of you randomly check and hope I have updated. I love that some of you commented that checking my site is part of your daily routine. We need to get coffee. ;)

I wasn’t aware of so many different websites that acts as a blog library! I use Bloglovin’, but many of you use Feedly, GReader, Blogger, Newsify, and Digg Reader. Lots of options to choose from!

My favorite posts are….

Day in the life posts won by a landslide with kids/baby related posts at a close second. That doesn’t shock me because I am just as nosy are you guys are and I love little snippets of daily life from other bloggers! I will definitely keep those type of posts as part of my rotation.

Many of you also love meal prep/planning as well as recipes. I’m trying to incorporate more of those posts these days, and I hope to work on a few recipes for you in the next coming weeks (that stuffed pepper skillet is coming!!!).

Fitness/Fashion/WIAW had about the same percentage of people that like those posts.

Bottom line? I think you guys like a good healthy mix which is GREAT! I could never post the same things day in and day out, so I’m glad you like a variety of topics.

I want you to post more…

image

The big winner here was daily life posts. I can make that happen for you!

In the comments, I had a lot of comments about how you love my book recommendations. I have a few for you coming in the next few weeks!

Other comments included: life with multiples, how I handle being a working mom, what my diet looks like now (as a ex-vegetarian), body after baby, etc. You all gave me a lot of ideas for some posts and I’m glad you have some different issues you want me to address. They are all going on my Google calendar and I’m working on them!

How do you feel about sponsored posts?

image

This one actually surprised me. I thought a lot more than 20% of you would say you could "do without them". Many of you commented that if sponsored posts are worked into the content of my blog and aren’t pulled from left field, you’re completely okay with them. I am picky about sponsorships/products I review for that reason. I don’t want all of my content to be eaten up by sponsored posts, and I do want for the products to be relevant to me and my world.

Thank you to those of you who understand that sponsored posts can be a supplement to my part-time income as a blogger. Mama’s gotta buy those bows somehow, right? ;)

Is there anything else you’d like for me to know?

You.

Guys.

Seriously, this was my favorite part of the survey, and I wish it wasn’t anonymous because I would love to write each of you a personal thank you for the sweet and wonderful comments you left.

First and foremost, I’m glad you’re all happy I’m back. I am happy I am back too! Last year was hard to find balance between everything going on - finishing grad school, transitioning to twins, being a working mom… and I am so glad so many of you stuck with me through it all. It means the world to me.

I am also so grateful that you all love and support my little family. I love my girls, and I am glad you’re enjoying watching them grow with me. It seems like just yesterday they were itty bitty babies, and I can’t believe they have so quickly grown into wild and crazy toddlers.

As time goes on, I’m sure there will be an ebb and flow of changes that occur on the blog because of life in general, and I’m glad you are all understanding of how as my life changes, my blog might as well.

I so enjoy writing again, and I hope you guys are here for the long haul - I certainly am!

If you’re signing off for the rest of the week, please have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for this year.

Such great results, you should be proud of the work you have done! Writing and managing a blog is a lot of work! Love seeing pictures of the girls and how much they’re growing plus they’re right around the age of my little sister so I always love seeing what they’re getting up to like her! Happy Thanksgiving!
