Even though it’s December, I received my “November” Stitch Fix on Monday. I’m not much of a fashionista (not much = not at all), but I love getting my Stitch Fix boxes every month. It’s like Christmas when that box shows up on my doorstep!
I wasn’t all too impressed with my box this month. I told my stylist Lindsay I wanted to focus on sweaters for the cold weather with chunky knits and fun fall/winter colors (raspberry, mustard, etc.). I know it’s hard to fulfill all requests because of the inventory they have each month, so I’m sure she did the best with what she had available!
Please ignore a few things –
1) the grainy pictures. I wanted to take some before the girls went to sleep, but Brooklyn was beastly. That’s what 4 new teeth at once will do to you!
2) How haggard I look. Yikes.
3) The halo around my head from my bright overhead light.
Otto Fringe Trim Sleeveless Cardigan - $58
I liked the idea of this sweater, and I think I probably would have liked it more if it was long sleeved instead of sleeveless. I think this sweater would be great for someone who lives in a warmer climate where it doesn’t get too cold during the winter. It was super cozy, and I loved how it draped, but I wish it would have had sleeves. RETURN
Niccolo Faux Leather Trim Cardigan - $68
I was “this close” to keeping this sweater. I liked the faux leather trim around the edges of the sweater, and I loved how cozy it was. The chunky material was right up my alley, but there was something about the color scheme and how the colors meshed that just screamed old lady to me. Maybe I’m crazy. RETURN
Delbert Textured Geo Knit Sweater - $68
I actually liked the design of this sweater, but I hated the material. It was soft and fuzzy, which I am so not into. RETURN
Sherwood Faux Leather Detailed Cardigan - $74
This lightweight cardigan was pretty cute. I have a few black cardigans, but nothing in a lightweight material. The sweater had a faux leather trim around the edges of the sweater and also across the shoulders in the back. The faux leather on the shoulders made for a little bit of an uncomfortable fit, and the price for this sweater seemed super high. RETURN
Baxley Zipper Detail Skinny Jeans
$88
LOVED these jeans. They fit perfectly. The rise was just right (about 1.5 inches below my belly button), they had just enough stretch, and the length was perfect. The only catch? I just bought a pair of black skinny jeans with zipper details, and I have about 5 other pairs of black skinny pants. I just couldn’t justify the purchase! RETURN
As you can see, I didn’t end up keeping anything from this month’s box.. nor did I keep anything from last month’s box. I’m hoping for some things I really can’t live without in my upcoming box!

I like the idea of stitch fix but haven’t tried it yet myself because I do feel like a lot of the items are pretty pricy and I’m more of a bargain shopper
I am too - sometimes I’ll get pieces in my fixes and try to find something similar somewhere cheaper!
I agree - I get stitch fix every few months and most of the time I feel like I could find the stuff for less. I only keep something if I’m head over heels for it and I can really justify the purchase.
Those sweaters were all….interesting. I keep seeing stitch fix on different blogs but I haven’t seen much that I love so I haven’t tried it yet. Maybe in the new year? Hope you have better luck on your next box!
haha - that’s a good way to put it!
I think you look so cute in the Delbert Textured Geo Knit Sweater! But if the material isn’t right/not your style, I think you made the right decision. Have you tried requesting specific items (not just “sweaters”)? I browse Pinterest and will request specific items I see that other people received in their fixes that I think are super cute! It definitely helps me get more successful boxes!
I have made a Stitch Fix board on Pinterest, but I’ve never actually requested specific pieces. Great suggestion - thanks!
I don’t think I would have kept anything in your box either. Stitch Fix is so much more fun when there’s stuff you want! Oh well maybe next month!
I always love reading your fix posts! You always get cute things!
i’m a sucker for good black skinnies also, but i agree that if you have that many pairs, another isn’t a necessity. i’m with you on the sweaters — i’m super picky about my sweaters also and wouldn’t have kept any of these. the prices aren’t the best for those styles, either. good choice.
I seriously do have so many pairs of black pants. They’re my staple for wearing to work with boots!
Well she definitely sent you sweaters! I totally agree with your returns. Loved the pants though. I’ve been on the lookout for some soft black jeans.
I got my pair from Target - I want to say they were on sale for $24!
I agree with your returns. Total bummer that you didn’t get to keep anything, though. I have my second “Fix” coming this month, and after the first one’s disaster, I’m really hopeful, but leery. Lol.
Oo! Can’t wait to read about it!
That’s a bummer that nothing worked out, but I agree with your return choices. I just recently started getting fixes again and I hope to find at least one thing in each fix that I like - it stinks to lose out on that styling fee!
I know! That’s the worst part!
I tried stitch fix twice but had two bummer experiences so I stopped the automatic fixes. I was so sad after seeing lots of good finds on bloggers but my boxes were a mess. I asked for a crossbody brown purse and the first fix they included the purse on my sheet of content but it wasn’t in the box and the second fix it came and the purse was RED not brown. Not to mention there was a sweater with a sailboat in there that I just didn’t understand given my explanation of style. I think it is super fun to have the clothes delivered to your doorstep but probably more successful shopping sales at Ann Taylor Loft. Maybe I’ll try again in the new year!
Haha, I agree with Tory above…definitely some “interesting” pieces in this fix! I’m with ya…probably would have suggested returning them all too. The cardigan was cute, but agreed, a bit of a steep price!
I don’t love any of the sweaters either. The geo print one looks super cute but I know what you mean about fuzzy sweaters - just not a fan.
Bummer on the not so good box this month. Hopefully next month will be better
I love both cardigans and the jeans, but yeah I agree with the first gal- I’m a bargain shopper and these are a bit pricey!
I agree with returning it all too, the prices were a bit high for something that’s not like YES KEEP IT screaming at you. At least that’s how I shop. But I’ve bought like 2 things that are real people clothes ALL year, so I’m prob a bad one to ask. lol.
Call me cheap but those prices just seem a bit high. I’ve always heard that you can find a majority of Stitch Fix pieces at other places for a quarter of the price.
These posts are seriously some of my favorites- thanks so much for posting them every month !
I’m glad you enjoy them Olivia!
I really love the leather trim cardigan and thought for sure it was priced too high, but it actually seems on par with Macy’s, etc. I’m SO glad to see a stitchfix blogger who understands sunk cost (i.e., sending it all back rather than “I didn’t really love anything but I kept the tank that fit ok for $48 so I don’t lose my styling fee.” I liked the sweater you thought was too old too; it’s a very tweed/chanel look which is so in right now.
