photo dump

February 3, 2015

I’m keeping things easy peasy around these parts today. Our snow day yesterday was amazing – we hung out around the house all day, and when John got home (after 36 hours of working!), I ran out to the store for a few things before he passed out for the night. I was definitely going stir crazy, so it was nice to get out for a minute.

During dinner, I noticed Brooklyn wasn’t acting like herself. She wasn’t eating much, and she was covering her face with her hands. It looked like she was trying to block out the light because her head hurt. Aubrey came down with strep throat on Friday, and that day Brooklyn had her hand all up in Aubrey’s mouth. That’s pretty normal around these parts, but it’s not good when someone ends up sick! :) I took Brooklyn’s temperature, and she had a 101 degree fever – not too bad, but my mom is going to be taking her to the doctor today while I’m at work. I’m hoping it’s not strep throat as well, but let’s face it – it probably is.

Switching gears – there are so many photos I take every day, and only a fraction of them make the blog/instagram/any form of social media. I thought it would be fun to share a few pictures that didn’t make the cut – a photo dump of sorts!

Okay, these two pictures have a funny story. Courtney texted me wanting to know what kind of sippy we use, so I sent her the picture on the left. She FREAKED out because my thumb looked creepy, so then I sent her a thumbless picture…which I find even creepier.

I was trying to get a good picture of a huge goose egg she got from falling onto a table. Youch!

hope the girls get better soon - strep is no fun - for babies or momma!

Fingers crossed - she didn’t have a fever when she woke up this morning! I’m hoping it stays that way, and that maybe it was just teething related since she’s getting a molar!

my goodness-what does John do that he’s gone so long? that’s a long day for you, indeed.

do both girls usually get sick at the same time? also wondering-is that cup a straw cap or just a regular sippy? my 1.5 year old only takes a straw cup- she’s never been able to “figure out” how to tilt back a cup! lol. i have a hard time finding ones that don’t leak.

He owns a landscape corporation, so in the winter he runs a snow removal team. He had been gone since 3 AM Sunday morning, so it was a long TWO days for me. Ha! He crashed the second he came home.

My mom and I are both sick over here, too! Healing vibes all around!!! We definitely babysat my 6month old niece the other day who had a sinus infection two days later. Sinnnnce we can’t stop with kisses and snot isn’t disgusting at all (actually, cute somehow?) we probably picked it up during that time haha.

Thanks! I was actually super surprised at how much it had grown over the past few days. The coordinator told me that most people join in the last 1-2 days, and he was so right!

I didn’t get a chance to comment on your snow post this morning, but OMG Lydia in that sled. So stinking adorable. I need her hair.

We have that same kind of sippy cup, although not in a girly color. Love seeing more photos of your girls! Gotta love how kiddos share sickness no matter what you do. And then normally with you too.

LOL - there is no getting around other kids in the household getting sick when they’re this little! They know no boundaries!

Cute photos of the girls, as always. And I’m with you - that thumb-less photo is even more creepy - haha!

I hope it’s not strep, yikes! Poor thing.

What is the name of the sippy? We have a (shorter/smaller) contigo for her and love it. But I want one more for juice & stuff. thx!

all the best for the girls. it should just be a minor thing. This winter has had its ups and downs so everything should be okay. They are two beautiful little souls you are doing a great job with them.
