livefit trainer week 2

January 30, 2012

Two weeks down, ten to go!

Okay that sounded better in my head.

Over the past two weeks, I have really come to love LiveFit a lot! Last week, I discussed a few questions you all had asked me about the program, but today I want to share with you the specifics of the workouts I have been completing.

source

Every night before a workout, I go to the LiveFit Trainer page and click on the day I will be completing the next morning. I look over the entire workout and the moves I will be doing. There’s nothing worse than getting to the gym and not knowing how to do one of the exercises! If there is an exercise I am not familiar with, I will watch the video that shows exactly how to complete it. That makes it so much easier than having to Google how to do certain moves that I’ve never done before. Once I take a look at the workouts, I’ll print out a PDF that I fill in with the weights I used while I am in the gym.

The first two weeks of workouts were a repeat of one another. It made me feel pretty good about myself because the second week was much easier to complete than the first! They were relatively short — only taking anywhere fro 20-30 minutes to complete each day. Each workout had anywhere from 6-8 exercises to complete. The workouts were the following (the link will bring you to the page with the exact moves completed):

All four of these days were completed in succession followed by three full days of rest. I’d be lying if I said I “really” rested on all three of those days though! I have been going to hot yoga on Saturday mornings, so I really have only been getting two rest days. I have also been taking Charlie on longer walks in the afternoon for my own sanity. While my heart rate isn’t really getting elevated, I have been enjoying the afternoon walks when I get home from school. We have been walking a 3 mile loop (maybe 3 times a week), particularly because Charlie has been deemed a few pounds overweight from our vet!

I am also happy to say I have already been seeing some results from the program as well! I never weighed myself before I started because I don’t weigh myself, but I did take some pictures and some measurements. I don’t want to focus too much on the measurements because my end goal isn’t to look like a bodybuilder or someone who is about to enter a fitness competition but to be strong and toned. I could actually care less if my stomach is rock hard — I want to be able to maintain my results and to me, having a “fitness competition” body isn’t something that would come normal to me.

End rant.

After two weeks, however, I’m starting to see some changes!

Waist: —1 inch
Hips: —1.5 inches
Chest: +0.5 (I don’t know how this happened, but keep it coming!!!)
Shoulders: +0.5 inches
Thigh: —1 inch
Bicep: same
Calf: +0.5 inches

If you ask me, I’m losing and gaining inches in all the right places!! Especially the chestular area.

The next week is still devoid of any cardiovascular activity, but there is an extra day of lifting added onto the mix and the workouts are different than the first two weeks. I’m excited to continue!

Bring it on Week 3!

Sounds great! For what it’s worth, I am 1 week down with BFL and have 11 to go ;) ! Like yourself, I am loving the structure and going into my workouts which them already being planned out! I feel like such a nerd when I go into the gym with my notebook and write down the weights used as I go along but it really motivates me and I like having it to refer back to.

And wow, you are making some FAST progress! You give me hope, woman..especially in the chest department! :D

If it makes a chest become larger that is a HUGE selling point for this girl! hehehe! You are doing great- with two weeks down. That is better than no weeks down, I hope you keep liking the program! Great going, Chelsey!

Wow, great progress for 2 weeks!! This makes me want to look closer into weight lifting. I need to check this program out. Anything that can shrink my hips and thighs is worth it!

Great progress girl! Keep rocking it!

I am on week three Insanity, and I have noticed more strength in my calves and quads! I actually did not take measurements, I am doing Insanity for a challenge, not to lose weight or anything. I love it so far though!

Hi Chelsey,

This sounds like such a wonderful work-out program. I have really enjoyed both of your updates, and I couldn’t agree more with your philosophy on what you are trying to achieve. A fitness competition body would definitely never be normal for me, and I wouldn’t want it to be. It certainly sounds like your hard work is paying off, and it is making me miss the challenge, and the measurable progress, of weight lifting! I always loved bumping up the amount of weight or reps and noticing when it got easier. I love cardio exercise too, but I think the progress is much slower, at least for me.

Hope you had a nice weekend, and I’d love to hear more updates on this work-out as you go along. :-)

I’m glad the program is going so well for you! I’ve thought about trying it, but I don’t know if I’m at a stage right now where I want to solely focus on lifting- I like my intervals and cardio too much haha

This sounds perfect. I am currently in a running rut and dred it every time i do it which often ends up in me skipping my workouts. I think i might start this next week!

I do feel weird not doing cardio…but let’s be real, I’m not complaining!
