skincare for summer traveling

July 1, 2013

I searched for years – literally YEARS – for a skin care regime that I could gush about every single time I wash my face. I’m blessed with combination skin. Some parts are normal, some parts are oily, and all parts have huge obnoxious pores (I’m looking at you cheeks!!). From the time that I turned 12, I can vividly remember always having at least one blemish on my face. My face has never been clear, and I’ve never been happy with any products that I have used… well, until November that is.

I’ve talked about Simone France a few times in the past, including my review that I did in January about the products. In November, my girl Penny hooked me up with their line to try out, and I have been obsessed ever since. And when I say obsessed, I mean it – like when my husband went out and bought a 4 wheeler without telling me, I told him I was going to go buy something awesome and expensive and he couldn’t stop me.

He asked me what I was going to buy.

I told him….

face wash.

I’ve been dropping my own hard earned cash on this skin care line since my swag stash ran out, and I have to say, I’m not even mad about it. Sure it’s expensive – but you guys… IT WORKS (I even converted Colleen to their products). Each full sized shipment lasts me about 3-4 months, and I use this stuff extremely generously.

I chatted with Penny a few weeks ago about my (now cancelled) upcoming vacation, and she graciously offered to send me a travel set for both me AND my husband. Simone France doesn’t have a men’s line quite yet, but she put together a nice little (manly) set for him, and I will be trying to coerce him to use it to see what he thinks. Other than his travel set, she sent me a mini set of their entire line that I already use.

In the morning I always use the Sandwich – the light moisturizer, the refining scrub, the soap (the travel set comes WITH a little travel caddy – love!), and then the light moisturizer again.

At night, I use the light milk followed by the gentle toner and light moisturizing cream.

Every week I also use the complexion perfection mask, and I have been missing my instant radiance mask (it has salicylic acid in it) like crazy ever since I’ve been pregnant.

I am always so sick and tired of lugging around huge sizes of my toiletries when I travel, so this is going to be perfect. I am envisioning myself using this when I go to the hospital to have the girls, and it will be perfect because I’ll be able to have it all packed ahead of time and not throwing things into a suitcase last minute because I use it every day.

I really and truly believe in this brand and I will shout it from the rooftops for all to hear as much as I can. I think it’s worth the money since I’ve seen the results – blackheads gone, blemishes are rare, and my skin always looks much better than it ever has in the past. Another fabulous thing about Simone France is that they are always having killer sales. I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price for any of their products!

Oh, and have i mentioned my orders usually come within 48 hours? That’s service right there!

Simone France sent me this travel kit to try out. All opinions are my own – I just really really REALLY love this stuff. No joke.

I went to their site to see what they recommended for my skin type and was thinking about giving it a try until I saw that some of their products contain parabens :( No bueno.

I’ll stick with the oil cleanse method, just need to work to find the mix of oils that works best for me!

Finding the “perfect” skin care line is SO HARD. I swear I’ll find something I like and then my skin adjusts to it or something and it just stops working. I’ll have to look into this!

Have you tried oil cleansing? I’ve been doing it for a year now and my skin is better than ever and its dirt cheap!

Do you use oil every night to clean your skin? I have been thinking of trying this.

Hey Jennifer! Yes I do use it every night. I wrote a lot about my experience on my blog. Google healthydiaries oil cleansing method. I documented it with photos too. I couldn’t recommend it enough!

I tried oil cleansing for a while last year, and while it works for a little while, my face ended up breaking out like crazy!!

So glad you found something that works! There is nothing more frustrating that skin care products!! I swear I’ve tried everything and anything, but I’m also a product junkie haha I’ve been wanting to try this, so maybe I’ll just get the travel set to try it out without too much commitment.

My aunt uses that stuff, too! She swears by just as you do. I’m pretty sure she probably keeps a few products in her purse haha!

I have never heard of this before but I’m going to check it out. I notice that the more I moisturize the better my skin, I love the Body Shop products the best out of everything I’ve tried.

That’s awesome that you have found a line of skin care that works for you! I know traveling with beauty products can be a pain. I have recently started usin coconut oil on my skin and have seen a huge improvement.

I tried using coconut oil as a moisturizer on my face and it made me break out like crazy! You’re so lucky it works for you.

Man, I just may have to give this a go. I have such annoying skin. Breaks out enough to be annoying - and more than any 25 year old’s face should. But not enough to really go hard core on it with treatment by a dermatologist. This sounds wonderful!

I might give this a try. I have tried the oil cleansing and coconut oil and it just didn’t work for me. I had awful breakouts for 3+ weeks!

I have heard so much about this line! I wish it weren’t so pricey :( Maybe it’s worth it!

To ensure healthy skin it is first important to judge your skin type and then choose skin products accordingly.

Holy crap, when you said expensive, I thought maybe it was like a Clinique or another department store line. But $300+ for a few products?! OMG. I can’t believe you can afford that being a blogger. I am a graphic designer and clearly in the wrong profession if a blogger is dropping $300 on face wash. :/

Lol, I definitely do not spend $300. I spend maybe $130 every 3.5-4 months. Were you looking at all of the products individually? They are sold in bundles which makes it cheaper. Aaaaand, I don’t make a lot of money blogging. I am a teacher too remember. ;)
