Gooooooood morning and Happy Hump Day! (sidenote: I swear that’s a clean link
) Before I get started on my eats from yesterday, I wanted to give you all an update on these two little ladies since I won’t be updating about them until next Tuesday.
My ultrasound yesterday went really well. My mom and aunt came with me, and my aunt had never come to one with me before so it was fun for her to be there. The girls are both doing really well, and I figured out why I feel like Baby A is head butting her way out of me – it’s actually her feet! Both the girls flipped and are breech right now. We’ll see if they turn any more before D-Day. The girls actually both weigh MORE than I thought they would as well! Baby A is clocking in at 2 pounds 13 ounces and Baby B is clocking in at 2 pounds 11 ounces – well above the average for 28 weeks! Grow girls, grow!
Allright, time to get this food show on the road. Apparently my decreased hunger I spoke of yesterday was a lie – I was starving all day yesterday. I also tried not to eat too much in one sitting so I wouldn’t get super stuffed.
Breakfast – 6:00 AM
Breakfast was super early – I could not sleep for the life of me on Monday night so I figured I might as well just get out of bed and get the day started. Breakfast was oatmeal with blueberries and about 2.5 tablespoons of crunchy peanut butter. I wish I were joking about that portion, but I’m not. I ate a spoonful after I topped my oatmeal!
I will be going with overnight oats today though – too warm for a 90 degree day!
Snack – 9:00 AM
I started to get hungry for a snack during my chores this morning (okay, really I was taking a break and chatting with Courtney) and snagged a few bites of cold leftover enchiladas in the fridge. When that didn’t do the trick, I scrambled up a few eggs. That did the trick!
Lunch – 11:30 AM
Lunch was thought out well in advance this morning. All I wanted was a sandwich, so that’s what I went with! I had an extremely juicy peach on the side.
Snack – 1:45 PM
When I was running errands for the Husband before my ultrasound appointment, I had a hankering for a crunch ice cream cone from The Creamery. I didn’t eat the cone part (obviously) and just ate the ice cream until I got down to the cone. I guess it was the act of licking an ice cream cone that I really wanted.
Dinner – 6:00 PM
Dinner was a gooooood one. I fired up the grill and made myself a veggie burger (and regular burgers for the Husband) as well as some fresh green beans from our garden. I also made a quick broccoli cole slaw by mixing a bag of broccoli slaw with raisins and poppyseed dressing (Newman’s Own). It was so so good. I am definitely going to be making that a regular thing around here! I had second helpings of both sides.
Snack(s) – TBD
Since I’m writing this Tuesday night almost right after dinner, you’d better believe there will be more snackage in my future this evening. Not sure what, but I kind of want to try the lemon CHO I bought yesterday!
Today is a busy one – my mom and I are taking my nephew shopping for his birthday (the big 1-0!) and later tonight I have a breastfeeding class I am going to. Luckily, I’m a nice wife and I’m not making the Husband come with me. The poor guy is at his wit’s end with work – he needs to stay home and relax (or work some more in the office
).
Adios until I “see” you again!

So glad all is well with the girls and that they are growing like little weeds! Very cool to have green beans from the garden. Have fun shopping!
I love that commercial! It cracks me up every time I see it haha.
Don’t be ashamed by 2.5 tbsp of peanut butter..I eat that much too with my oatmeal
hahah - glad I’m not the only one!
It sounds like you had a great day of eats! I love ice cream comes, I think they are way more fun to eat than ice cream from a bowl.
That ice cream cone looks out of this world! So happy to hear that the girls are doing well and growing like weeds, how exciting!
Yay for the twins!!! Are you guys waiting to share names? I can’t wait to hear
I’m with you cones suck… the ice cream’s where it’s at!
That is almost six pounds of baby in there! Yeeeesssss!
Grow girls, grow!
Looooove crunch on my ice cream! It is a favorite that I’m ashamed to say I haven’t had in ages! Hope the husband’s work can be smooth sailing- that’s tough when one is burn out at work—- (cough cough, end of the school year. every. year)
I woke up this morning with that commercial already in my head! And that ice cream cone looks DELICIOUS!
haha great minds think alike!
That’s amazing the girls are growing so much!
Why does your oats always look so good and fluffy! Do you still make them on the stove top with banana? What brand and type of oats do you get?
Share your oats secret.
I make them on the stovetop (although I regretted it because I was sweating eating them!). I just soak 1/2 cup oats with 1 cup water for about 20 minutes before I add some milk. Then I cook them and slice in banana and whip it until the banana is pureed into the oats.
Glad the appt went well yesterday!!! Great to hear the girls are growing right along!!!!
I want that ice cream cone.
<3
Go get one!
Yay…glad your ultrasound went well!
Breakfast and that ice cream cone look soooooo good! And I definitely need to try out that broccoli slaw. Looks awesome!
I have never seen or heard of a crunchy ice cream cone before that looks amazing and perfect for the heat!
I’m pretty sure 2.5 tbsp is less than some eat with their oatmeal. Haha. Seriously, sometimes it looks like they put a whole cup on there
And then have a few “scoops straight from the jar.” Lol. But it’s just so good
haha PB is just too good!
mmmm that ice cream looks amazing! nothing better in the summer!
Yay, healthy babies!!!
I don’t know what it is about peanut butter. I can eat 500 calories worth of it without even blinking an eye. When I’m done I blink my eyes and I’m like “wth just happened there?”
hahaha tell me about it! I’m the same!
Lemon Cho is my latest obsession!! Dessert with chocolate chips? Don’t mind if I do!
Did you like it??
It was pretty good! I still love pineapple the best though!
Wow.. you GROW girls! Sorry, couldn’t help it
I’ve never seen that flavour/topping on ice cream here before.. fun way to beat the heat!
Have an awesome Wednesday, I haven’t clicked the link yet, so I’m trusting your judgment…
I hope you clicked it!!! There’s nothing like a camel on hump day!
Oh I clicked it!! And then proceeded to forward the link to several other ladies hahah
Good one lady!
So so glad the girls are growing like crazy! Almost 3 pounds each is incredible!
All your eats look great and I love the idea of mixing broccoli slaw + raisins + poppyseed dressing! I had broccoli slaw last night mixed with just a little ranch to go along with buffalo turkey burgers
I’m not going to lie, I was pretty impressed that they’re already that big! Although, I can believe it. The weight of about 6 pounds of babies is hard to miss!
I think I have at least 2.5 T of almond butter every day and I’m not pregnant
I’ve always wanted twins, so I’m curious if you know the stats behind breastfeeding for both? Is any mother able to successfully breastfeed two babies just like one? Sorry if this sounds stupid, I’m just wondering how much harder it is for the body to feed two babies than one - or perhaps it’s not much different at all? Maybe this is something you’ll know after your bf class
I’m not sure of the stats, but I know it’s possible and pretty commonly done. Nursing is like supply/demand. The more you nurse, the more you produce. Hopefully I won’t have any supply problems, but we if I do, we’re not opposed to supplementing with formula as needed. And if you can master tandem feeding (which I’m hoping to), it shouldn’t be much harder than feeding just one once you get the hang of it!
The lactation consultant that taught our class said that she has successfully helped a mother ONLY breastfeed QUADRUPLETS before. That was impressive.
Wow! That’s awesome! I had only one little one and really had a hard time producing enough milk and ended up having to supplement with formula. I’m so glad you are going into it with an open mind. I felt like such a failure and looking back on it not, that’s just rediculous. You do what you can. It’s better for the wee ones if your not all stressed out about stuff and just go with the flow. Happy mommy and daddy makes for a happy bambinos! Good luck with everything!
Thanks Rosanna. I would love to exclusively use my own milk (through nursing or pumped when I go back to work), but I know it doesn’t always work out that way. We’ll see how it goes!
How did your ultrasound go? I love seeing ultrasounds pictures of twins!
OMG that ice cream cone has me drooling. We definitely need a place like that here in Texas!
Refer to second paragraph.
Ultrasound went great!
Haha 2.5 tablespoons of peanut butter for a serving is a normal thing for me.
Tell me about it - for me, especially at night!
Oh man THAT ICE CREAM!!! I need it. It’s been way too long since I had scrambled eggs and ketchup.
We’re trying to plant more veggies around my house but we live in the woods so it’s hard to find a spot they can grow well! I love fresh green beans and I think they taste even better knowing you grew them yourself
That’s tough in the woods! Hope you find a good place!
Glad to see that the babes are doing well! And that ice cream cone really makes me think I need to get one of those soon. And I need to find the dressing you used for your slaw, I’ve had such a thing for poppyseed dressing lately!
I have too! I don’t know what it is lately!
I’m curious about your sandwich only because my husband and I are trying for our first so I’ve been researching everything I can get my hands on about pregnancy
it looks like cold cuts. Is that not a Listeria concern? Are there certain types that are safe? (please say yes!)
I’ve talked to my doctors as well as several nurses, and they have all told me to just be safe. Typically if you’re buying the meat yourself from a deli, make sure you get home and put it in the fridge right away - or get a prepackaged kind (with no nitrates for both of these). They told me to be leery of getting deli meats on sandwiches from restaurants/fast food type places because the bacteria grows if it’s been sitting out. But basically they told me I could eat it.
PS - But check with your doctor too before you do it. And good luck on the baby making!
Awesome!! That’s great news. I love me a good sandwich!
Thanks for the good luck- we’re hoping this is the month!
I hope it is for you as well - but if it’s not, don’t get too down. I can just remember the heartache month after month of trying. It’s horrible how much of an impact it can have on you. Stay positive!
Thank you so much. It’s true, it can really wear on a person. We’ve only been trying 4 months now, but the first 2 months were the hardest because I was convinced we’d get pregnant the first month. CONVINCED. Now I think I’m just hoping for before the end of the year! I’m so glad I found your blog through Bloglovin. You are such a sweetheart!
Hahaha, as I was reading about the eggs I was like, hmmm that’s right when we were chatting…and then there’s my shout out!
Totally loving the looks of ALL that food yesterday - especially dinner and the ice cream. YUM!
I wanted your hot dogs in your post today. Weird?
That’s so awesome they are doing so well!! Keep up the great work:)
I do things like that with broccoli slaw all the time. In fact I have some marinating in some Sesame Ginger dressing in the fridge right now for an Asian style slaw.
Oh yum! That sounds good - what did you serve it with?
Yay! So happy to hear that your ultrasound went well. It sounds like you’re going to be the mama of two very healthy babies!
Fingers crossed!
I always consider buying the broccoli slaw I see at Trader Joe’s every week but I’m never quite sure how to eat it so I avoid it. I’ll have to give that a try!!
That’s what I typically do too - the only reason I bought it was because the store was out of regular slaw! I’m a fan though!
Wow, that cone looks awesome! I love cooking with broccoli slaw, it makes a great dish heated or raw!
Go baby girls! I know that’s got to ease your mind a little, knowing they’re bigger than average and growing away! Your eats all look ridiculously good. Not gonna lie - I could eat my weight in PB. And that cone…I was drooling. Don’t stay too busy today…rest up for those babies!
And your hubby totally owes you for leaving him out of that class.
He does totally owe me - I sent him a picture of a boob stress ball that we used as “practice” boobs. He got a kick out of it!
Ha! That’s great!! My husband’s sis is pregnant, and whenever we talk about breast pumping, he gets totally grossed out. He says he “doesn’t want to think about boobs like that.” Haha!
hahaha my husband thinks it’s a little weird too, but if it means we save $$$$$$ every month, he’s all for the boobs being used for that purpose.
Bahaha! SO true! Every penny counts!
I think peanut butter is the single hardest thing to control portions on! It’s just so dang good! And how can you put it on something without sneaking an extra spoonfull?? It’s just not possible! I’m so glad you and the girls are doing well!
You’re right - not possible at all!
Aren’t twinkle ice cream cones the best?? I love them, probably because they remind me of my childhood. That broccoli slaw coleslaw sounds fantastic, too! I think I am going to have to use broccoli slaw the next time that I am making coleslaw.
I’m so glad that everything is looking good!
They’ll be here before you know it!
Gaaah! I know! I had a “holy crap I’m going to be a mom in like 8 weeks” moment last week.
Crunch ice cream cone?! Holy amazingness I HAVE to try one!! That first sandwich and ketchup eggs look freaking awesome! Pop this baby out girl!!
Yay for the girls growing so well!! Nice work, mama.
That ice cream cone looks ahhhhmazing. Yumm-O.
p.s. guess who is taking advantage of free slurpees today?! THIS girl. hah
That ice cream cone looks fantastic. It wont be like that, but I’m counting down till this weekend, then I will get ice cream.
Would also say that you look fantastic in your third trimester.
What kind of bread did you use for the sandwich?
Udi’s GF!
