fun facts friday

July 12, 2013

1. Please tell me I’m not alone when I tell you that there is no better feeling in the world than killing a fly that has been buzzing around your kitchen all day long. Yesssssssssssss.

2. I still have yet to learn that I need to NOT eat seconds at dinner. There. Is. No. Room. For. Seconds…. well, until maybe 1-2 hours after the original dinner. Am I allowed to space dinner out all night long? Last night I made gluten free lasagna (loosely followed this recipe and did half with meat sauce for the Husband and half with regular sauce/spinach for me), and I just couldn’t help myself. I spent the next hour wishing I hadn’t eaten that second (very large) piece.

3. Aubrey has started to be extremely cute when she sees me coming out to my mom’s car if we’re going to go somewhere. Wednesday she covered her mouth and giggled with excitement and yesterday when my worker bee niece came over to clean for me, she waved excitedly and said, “Aunt Chi coming?”. Nope, sorry kid.

4. I hate running out of laundry detergent. I should just learn to buy two at a time, but I never learn. My laundry had to be cut short yesterday because I ran out. Darn. (insert sarcasm here)

5. I have been in a reading groove lately. The first month of the summer I didn’t have much luck with books, but I’m on a roll now. Woohoo!

6. This morning after my massage, it’s pool time at the Husband’s aunt’s house. I’m pretty pumped!

7. My Candy Crush obsession continues. If only I could beat level 147. My cousins are on like 300 something. Not cool.

8. Ummmm did anyone watch Colleen’s House Hunters episode last night? I think I love her 20392403209482309483209480x more after seeing it. Why oh why do  you live in Richmond? Not even cool Colleen.

9. I was going to have no pictures for you today, but I decided to share the girls’ photos from Tuesday. Baby A is on the left, and I think she still resembles John more than me. Baby B was being a stinker for the second ultrasound in a row, and we haven’t seen her face since week 20. However, the last time we saw her, she looked more like me. We will seeeeeeeeee!28 week ultrasound

I might be biased, but that is the cutest little face I have ever seen…and the cutest little side of a head I have ever seen. ;)

10. It’s the weekend! Happy Friday!!!

These darn flies have been driving me crazy! How did they even get in my house?! I swear someone is trying to test me ;) . Aww such cuties! Wish we could see Baby B :)

My husband is obsessed with Candy Crush. He plays every night. I played for a few days, got to level 30 or something — when it tells you that you have to connect to Facebook to continue — and that was it for me. I don’t miss it!!!

Thanks for including the babies’ pictures! I love seeing them. I killed a fly earlier this week, and I agree, it’s super gratifying!!!

The scan is so clear! Eek! Super excited for you! Also I’m totally with you on the fly killing!

Killed a fly in the kitchen yesterday. May or may not have done a celebratory jig.

Love the ultrasound pics!!

I’m not even up to level 100 yet on Candy Crush! I’m almost there around 98 I think. You feel so accomplished once you beat a level you’ve been working for SO long.

Oh my gosh about #8!! I KNEW that she looked familiar but I could not place it. I actually thought that maybe I had just seen that episode before even though it said that it was “new.” How cool!! Thanks for clearing that one up for me ;) .

It’s so crazy how much technology has changed over the years when it comes to pregnancies. I love that you can get an ultrasound and see such detailed photos! Happy weekend!

Lindsey July 12, 2013 at 7:42 am

Love the babies photos! So good. I want to get a 3D ultrasound here but regular ones are free and they cost extra so we will see.
I am jealous you watched Colleen’s HH! We never got her episode in Canada which makes no sense!

No fair! Thankfully, they do the 3-d/4-d when I go for my high risk ultrasounds every 4 weeks so it’s included :)

Reply

Emily July 12, 2013 at 7:43 am

Ok, I’ve been stuck on level 147 forever too!!! What is with that stinking level?? So tempted to pay to get past it but I’m so determined not to. Dumb CC!

Reply

cleaneatingchelsey July 12, 2013 at 2:58 pm

I’m actually not too annoyed with it which is so unlike me. There have been a few that I have been SO angry that I could not beat it but 147 isn’t one!

Nicole @ FruitnFitness July 12, 2013 at 8:10 am

Massage and pool time today? That sounds like a great day planned! Those ultrasound pictures are amazing.

They are so adorable! Yes - killing that fly is probably my single great accomplishment yesterday!

Reply

Wow. The pictures must make it all very real for you!

I wonder if you might email me? I’ve tried to email you and no luck (or perhaps you wish not to respond or no time and that’s okay too!). I wanted to ask about your experience with health and amenorrhea, if not too personal, thank you.

Hi Jamie,

I’m so sorry - I don’t think I ever got your emails! I have more emails than you’d think that go to spam on accident. I’m emailing you right now!

Technology just astounds me. Those ultrasound photos are so life-like! Have you ever watched George Lopez? I’ve seen a few re-runs and he never fails to crack me up. The part with the ultrasound starts a little after 1:20 if you really want to skip ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMazuxH1u2s

LOL - that video was too funny. My husband called them aliens at our 15 week ultrasound.

I wish we could’ve gotten one of those 4D ultrasounds - SO cool!

Sounds like you have a pretty perfect day ahead of you! Massage + pool time?! Yes please! Enjoy!

Oh my gosh I totally agree with #1!! I strongly dislike flies buzzing around my house…especially the kitchen. So about a week ago when there was one flying around, I got into ninja mode, rolled up my mom’s Westchester magazine, and whacked that thing while it was on the faucet. He was a goner. YES.

Reply

Lauren July 12, 2013 at 10:00 am

I caught the second half of House Hunters last night! It’s such a small world! I couldn’t believe she was on the show! And what book are you currently reading? I am definitely in need of a good one because the last few I’ve tried to read just did not interest me at all. The worst feeling is buying a book you just CANNOT get into! Enjoy the day by the pool!

Okay so we’ve figured out Baby A looks like the hubby, but has your personality for the camera

and Baby B will look like you, but will be camera shy like the hubby!

Wow … so amazing to see that 3D ultrasound. I only had regular ultrasounds done (and I only had 2 the whole time … at 6 weeks and 20 weeks), so I never got to really see what she looked like. So neat!

Reply

Colleen @ The Lunchbox Diaries July 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm

I’m so glad you liked it!!! It was so awkward to watch. Weird: I’ve been recognized by 3 people today. How weird is that?! Have a fun weekend, pretty lady!!

LOL - that’s too funny! John was seriously upset though that you did not build your house with a basement because Corey wanted one so badly. I think he wants an explanation. ;)

How awesome is technology that you can see what your babies look like in the womb?! Amazing!! What have you been reading lately? I can’t find anything I’m interested in, and I love a good book. I have Colleen’s episode of HH recorded. I hope to watch it soon!

Hi Chelsey! I am new to your blog, but I am really enjoying reading all of your old posts! I love that you attain a healthy lifestyle while teaching, being a wife, and soon a new mother. I am the mother of two, and I teach also. Sometimes I have little faith in my ability to balance diet and exercise with LIFE. Thanks for showing it can be done!

I’ll be interested to see if they sleep in those positions the first few weeks as well - I hear that people can look back at ultrasounds and see that they usually sleep the same way. Too cute!

Jen@HealthyFoodandFamily July 13, 2013 at 5:26 pm

Gluten free lasagna- needs to be mine! I’ve only been gluten free for a couple of months, but there are some things I’m really missing and cheesy lasagna is one of them.

As for candy crush- that game has candy crushed my soul! I’m on level 125, I can’t pass it.
