They say good things happen in three’s. Okay, I think they say bad things happen in three’s. However, being the optimist that I am, I am going to say that good things happen in three’s.
When I saw this fun post over at Amanda’s, I knew I had to jump on the survey bandwagon and complete this one!
Three ways that I’m still a kid…
- I call my mom every time I have a problem. Whether or not she really wants to hear about how “unfair” my situation is, she will either coddle me or tell me to buck up and deal with it.
- My lunchtime is the same time as a kindergartener’s. I start getting hungry around 11 or 11:30 in the morning, and I just don’t fight it anymore. I embrace my hunger and eat lunch super early. That just means more time for snacks in the afternoon!
- I will always take a nap if I can. If I am home in the afternoon, you better believe that sometime in between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m., I will take at least a 20 minute power nap. It makes me feel rejuvenated and refreshed for the rest of the day!
. — . — . — .
Three ways that I’m already old…
- I find myself saying things like “well back in my day”, “when I was younger”, “can you believe kids these days?”, and “where are those children’s parents right about now?”.
- I am in bed by 10 at the latest, usually on the weekends as well. On the flipside, I’m up in the morning by 6.
- I’m a “Mrs.” — I feel old every time someone calls me “Mrs. Husband.
. — . — . — .
Three things that I want to do…
- Have babies — although some would disagree, I think raising children is the most important job in the world. Ever since I was little, I have always wanted a family, and I can’t wait until I do! (side note: no, I am not pregnant.)
- Go on a Mediterranean cruise — I love Europe, and the concept of cruises allows you to see so many places on just one vacation. The added bonus? You don’t have to pack up your suitcase every time you’re in a new city.
- Write a book — now I just have to figure out what to write about…
. — . — . — .
Three ways that I’m a stereotypical boy…
I cannot name a one. There is nothing boyish in me. I’m sorry.
. — . — . — .
Three ways that I’m a stereotypical girl…
- I make the Husband kill bugs. Seriously, they gross me out. I scream every time I kill a spider. And I don’t even want to talk about the time where ants infested my kitchen pantry. Eewww that makes me shudder.
- I like getting pampered. Manicures, pedicures, massages, facials — I’ll take them all please. There’s nothing about a spa day that disappoints me.
- Shopping for clothes makes me happy. That or a Coach purse — have I mentioned my birthday is on Saturday? I’m accepting presents.
. — . — . — .
Three things that I like about myself…
- I don’t always have to be around others. I absolutely enjoy my “me” time when I can be alone without having to answer to anyone else. I’ve always been a pretty independent person!
- I’m hardworking. When I have a goal in mind, I go for it. Whether it’s a work goal or a running goal, I tend to put my whole self into making sure I succeed. If I don’t succeed, that’s okay — I just try my hardest!
-
I love learning. It’s only natural I decided to become a teacher because I have always loved school. I’m a natural bookworm who would love to do nothing more than sit in a corner and read a book for an entire afternoon.

Three of my everyday essentials…
- Oatmeal. I wish I could say I don’t have oatmeal every day, but… wait, no. I don’t wish I could say that. I love oatmeal — all kinds too. Hot, cold, baked, in pancakes… I could go on, but I think you’ve got it.
- Snuggles from my puppy. Charlie is such a lover, and no day is complete unless I have a hug from him. I suppose snuggles from the Husband too.
- Hummus. Isn’t it sad that 2 out of my 3 every day essentials are food? But seriously, I can’t live without hummus. I’ve recently tried Sabra for the first time — I’m sorry, but was I living under a rock? That stuff is addicting.
. — . — . — .
Three things that scare me…
- Semi Trucks. I have been horrified of driving next to them ever since my mom got into a car accident with one when I was younger. Driving next to a truck is one thing — being sandwiched between two is a whole other story. Frightening!
- Disappointing others. I hate when people are mad at me or they feel I haven’t done my best at a task I was supposed to complete. My parents were lucky — all they had to ever do was play the “disappointed” card and I would cry like a baby.
- Losing important things. I’m not one to really “lose” things — just misplace them. Let’s talk about the time when I misplaced my college diploma and couldn’t find it when it came time to apply for a mortgage. I had to get a new one. At the end of the school year, I found it. Perfect. Needless to say, the Husband handles all important documents now.
Question: Take a section and answer for yourself!

I was so happy to see this post, where is the beach picture from? I hope you are having fun!!!!! …. It was the biggest adjustment becoming Mrs. H I liked being Miss G, and it was hard putting the days as my daddy daughter behind me to becoming my husbands wife….. I’m still me here, just Julie.
What a fun post! I am afraid of semi trucks too! My mom, grandma, and I were in an accident where one side-swiped us and when my mom slammed on the brakes, one hit us from behind! It was SO scary! I was about 9 years old and couldn’t stop crying. Thankfully, we were all okay!
I can totally see you raising beautiful, amazing children, btw. You just will be so wonderful in that role when the time comes!
Three of my everyday essentials…
A really hot shower
Really hot coffee
Something sweet/desserty
Omg I HATE driving in between semis!!! They are so scary and I always think one is gonna A) blow over on top of me and my little car and crush me or B) not realize I’m there and push me off of the road! I’m also obsessed with Sabra hummus too. They put crack in the roasted red pepper version, I’m sure of it!

Happy Early B-day! Glad you are having a good time on vacay and I kind of hope you don’t even read this comment cuz you’re busy doing better things!
Oatmeal is an everyday essential for me too! More like a multiple time a day essential!
3 things I like about myself:
I’m a dreamer, and I’m not satisfied with what I have, I always want more.
I’m independent. I don’t need anyone, I just keep em around because I like them!
I’m opinionated, but all opinions have basis in research.
you are adorable. I ove your 3 things. And I am an old fart. Go to bed by 10pm and up by 5am. eek!
I am old (almost 30yr) but I love thinking I’m wiser for it. hehe.
This is such a great post! I call my mom every single time something is unfair, too. Sometimes that’s all it takes
Happy early bday lovely!
Hehe this survey was too fun.
Three ways that I’m already old:
1. I’m ALWAYS looking at the world and thinking how much better it used to be when I was younger.
2. Granny sleeping times for me too! 10-5:30 most nights. Very annoying in the summer when it’s still bright while I’m falling asleep…
3. I eat a lot of fiber…
this was cute! I love learning more about you! And I am the same with killing bugs…even if its so small, I still wont kill it!
Everyday Essentials:
Chia tea
Greek yogurt :O
Fruit, I have to have SOME!
Okay, you and i are so SIMILAR according to these, haha!!
i LOVEEE hummus, but I must admit oats are no longer a daily staple-they don’t fill me up!! i need to try them again in a denser version
Just filled this out for a guest post I wrote! It was actually really fun! I like your responses too lol!
You’re not alone in the early lunch club
I’m usually hungry between 11-12
There are so many of these that we are similar on! I always WANT to be in bed by 10pm (up at 5 or 5:30 every morning!), but my honey usually messes that up in some way. I LOVE having alone time and reading when I can. A daily essential of mine is water! Lots and lots of water!
i love these posts! 3 things I want to do
- GO on a plane for the first time ( AKA-travel out of Canada-across the ocean)
- Go on a rollercoaster for the first time
- Graduate
Haha I have a super early lunch time too. My boss always makes fun of me because she’ll come out at 12:30 and ask if I want to take a lunch break and I just point over at my already empty lunch bag.
My every day essentials:
1. Banana
2. Coffee
3. Some form of movement, even if it’s just a walk
This is a fun post! I’m going to do everyday essentials…
1. My boyfriend! Can’t live without him
2. Oats - I’m totally with you on the oatmeal! Nothing fills me up like it so if I don’t have some form of oats for my brekkie, I’m starving for the rest of the day!
3. A good night’s sleep - I can’t accomplish anything if I haven’t gotten my 7 hours
I’m going to DITTO you’re “3 Ways That I’m Already Old” — I’m right there with you, except I’m older than you so maybe that doesn’t count, ha!
your wedding photo is beyond gorg!
3 things I want to do:
- have a family! (and no I am seriouslyyyy not pregnant
- qualify for the Boston marathon
- go back to school - probably for a Law degree!
ok, so I’m eating dinner as I write this and so I don’t want to do a whole section..but I gotta say, your wedding hair - STUNNING!
Great post! 3 of my everyday essentials:
1. Yogurt-I have to have some everyday….whether its plain or mixed with fruit…or sweetened greek yogurt…its my fave snack to give me energy and fill me up (well, at least until the next meal).
2. Proactiv-the only facial cleanser that works for me! Its finally brought my adult acne under control!
3. bobby pins-My hair is in that weird “grow out” stage, and they have become essential for pinning back my bangs and trying to create a cute hairstyle daily.
You have such a great personality!
I totally want to write a book too, but have no idea what it would be about. Maybe we should be co-authors
What a great post! I’m exactly the same way about disappointing people. I could handle if my parents were made at me, but if they said they were disappointed, oh man that brought the tears every time!
I love Sabra hummus, too…especially the spinach-artichoke…so amazing! My fave way to eat it is spread on toasted Ezekiel Bread (but of course you could use gluten-free bread) with some salsa on top and then some sliced avocado on the very top. So delicious and satisfying!
I could relate to almost all of these- ha!
I can’t kill bugs either, though I always get a jar or paper and scoop them outside. Semi trucks are nerve-wrecking. If they’re too close I slow down or speed up to get away from them.
I loved reading this!!!
I’m SUCH a baby with bugs too. If the hubby isn’t home, I use Raid on everything….not just roaches!
