case of the lost keys

4:30 am – Wake up. Excited I don’t feel tired. Get pumped to go work out this morning since I have conferences this afternoon.

4:33 am – Remember the Husband was the last one to use my car keys.

4:34 am – Freak out.

4:35 am – Wake up Husband to find keys

4:35-6:00 – Look for said keys.

6:00 am – Determine the keys as a lost cause.

6:30 am – Repeat over and over again, “It’s okay you didn’t get to go work out – it’s okay you didn’t get to go work out – it’s okay you didn’t get to go work out”.

The benefits? Driving a really cool red truck to school today.

  1. You’re probably going to find them in the most obvious and random place when you get home tonight…

  2. Hope the lost key issue gets sorted out. In the meantime, enjoy driving the truck.

  3. My mom lost her keys one fall and couldn’t find them ANYWHERE. We determined them a lost cause, though everytime it snowed or rained hard her car alarm would go off. That spring, my dad found the whole dang set in a flowerbed outside our house…and they keyfob still worked, hence why the alarm was so active all winter.

  4. EEK! I hate when that happens, at least you get to drive a cool truck:)

  5. That happened to me last week! Turns out they were in the bottom of my work bag underneath my computer and grading the whole time. Ugh!

  6. You know they’re in your purse or your husband’s pocket, right? Every time I lose something they’re “hidden” in plain sight. With sunglasses, they’re inevitably on my head.

  7. NOOOOO!! That is the worst! Good for you to stay positive…my inner Gorilla would have come out. I loose my keys about once a week if that makes you feel better. Good luck finding them.

  8. I always say I’m going to put up a key rack by my front door so I don’t run into this problem but it’s just never happened. Luckily I live in an apartment and there’s only so many places a set of keys could be hiding. Hope you find them!

  9. Oh no! I’m sorry. That’s a rough way to start off Monday morning. Don’t worry, though. Try to just think of it as a little break your body needs. I’ll say a prayer to St. Anthony for you, ;) He’s kind of the man.

  10. I’m still stuck on the fact that you get up at 430a to work out! That’s awesome! =)

  11. Aw you poor thing! I hate losing my keys! It’s only happened to me once, and it was when I was trying to get to a job interview. SO not cool!

  12. Oh no, that makes for a crappy start to the day. This happened to me once before only to find out my toddler hid them between the mattress and the box springs! Yeah, we looked everywhere but there before hand oh and that was the only set of keys to that car! Oh, the memories…he is still a stinker too!

I hope your day is better now!

  13. They’ll probably show up in a super random spot. Hope you find em soon!

  15. Aww what a crappy way to start your Monday morning! I hope they turn up!

  16. I am SO impressed you got up at 4:30 am to work out. I am not a morning person, so this seems like an impossible physical feat to me.

  17. My sister in law just lost her keys for 3 days. 30 minutes after posting about it on facebook, she found them. Who knows - maybe try that? ;)

  18. Hopefully the lost keys did not spoil your whole day!

  19. Well this is going to drive me crazy until I find out what happened to them!! Please find them soon, for my sake! Hehehe!
    Did you check the freezer??

  20. Ah! 4:35 to 6? 4:35 to 6?
    Hellatious.
Plus I know you hate to be rushed.
And miss your chance to work out when you feel pumped.
Hopefully you squeezed in some good pumpkin oats to ease the absolute..hellatios-ness.

Hopefully, Husband is prepared that he SO OWES YOU.
I know your not scared. Demand repentence.
    Hmm…what shall it be.
How about he MUST make the bed without being prompted to from now on. He knows your bed time. Bed must be made by Chelsey’s bedtime or else be forced to eat your dinners - san husband modifications/additions - for an entire month.
OR he can promise to take you to the new raw vegan restaurant once a month for an entire year.
