I can’t resist a lot of things in life.

Scaring you all by making you think I’m pregnant at least once every few months.

My spoon that just happens to find its way to the peanut butter jar once a day.

Telling my students today that one of the reasons why I became a teacher was so I could hear myself talk because I’m really important – which means they better stop talking. (one of my favorite lines)

Mindless surveys that have been making their way around the blogosphere.

I just couldn’t resist – this brought me back to my days of seventh grade, emailing friends surveys and hoping they would fill them out in return. In fact, I even had a Xanga blog back in the day (anyone else?) and did these constantly.

I hope I don’t scare you away after this…

A. Age: 23 – The Husband and I remind each other all the time that we are not normal 23 year olds. In fact, I think I’ve been acting 30 since I was 6.

B. Bed size: Queen, but we need a King. I have black eyes and bruises to show for the Husband elbowing me in the face too many nights. I’m not a fan.

C. Chore you dislike: Putting away laundry. It is the worst! I will happily sort, do loads, and fold the clothes – but actually hanging up clothes and putting them in drawers is not my cup of tea. That or cleaning the shower. I’m really bad at cleaning the shower.

D. Dogs: Charlie! A 10 month old Pit bull/Terrier mix.

I love that picture so darn much – he looks like he’s smiling huge!

E. Essential start to your day:  It used to be coffee ::tear:: – now I suppose it’s a glass of lemon water and oatmeal topped with peanut butter. Actually, let me take my answer back. Just peanut butter – I don’t think I’ve missed a morning in 4-5 years without peanut butter.

F. Favorite color:  Purple – I wanted our wedding color to be purple, but the Husband was against it. But he went for pink? Weird. Purple or yellow actually. I love yellow.

G. Gold or silver:  Silver – I have a stigma against gold.

H. Height:  5 foot 8 inches – but I look like a shrimp compared to my 6 foot 5 inch husband.

Isn’t he a creep?

I. Instruments you play(ed):  I played piano for nine years (5-14) and clarinet for 4 (9-13). I hated it at the time, but I wish I stuck with piano a little bit more. My aunt gave us lessons, and I hated practicing. When we were younger, my sister and I used to have to set the kitchen timer on the microwave for 30 minutes each day to practice. We then used to stop the timer for each other in a way that sounded like the time was up. We thought we were so sneaky until a couple of years ago when we admitted it to our mom, she laughed and said she knew the entire time but didn’t have the energy to yell at us.

J. Job title:  Teacher, Wife, Puppy-mommy

K. Kids: Only Charlie – no bambinos over here.

L. Live:  Chicago suburbs, although I swear I was supposed to live somewhere warm and hot all year round so I could keep a nice tan. I don’t know how that got messed up.

M. Mom’s name:  Donna, Momma, Mommasita

N. Nicknames: Crazy (by the Husband), Chels, Chelster (when I was younger – my dad used to call me that all the time). But the Husband more frequently likes to call me Princess or Your Majesty (so just joking, but it would be nice)

O. Overnight hospital stays:  When I was born?

P. Pet peeves:  People being late, slow drivers, people who ride my butt when I’m driving, slow walkers, people who can’t read body language (as in “stop talking to me”)

Q. Quote from a movie: “So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day.” – The Notebook, aka the best love story in the world.

R. Righty or lefty:  LEFTY!!!! I swear there are an abundance of lefty bloggers out there. It must be wired in us to be uber creative (or something like that?). When I was younger, I had a shirt that said, “I may be left handed, but I’m always right”. I wish I saved that shirt.

S. Siblings:  Kirstin (25), Matthew (20)

I was adopted, right!?!?!?

T. Time you wake up:  4:25 (weekdays that I work out), 5:15 (weekdays I don’t work out), 6:00-6:30 (weekends)

U. Underwear:  umm, yes? Weird question. I plead the fifth.

V. Vegetables you don’t like:  I don’t think I’ve ever met a vegetable I don’t like. Unless you take cabbage and make it into sauerkraut. Then I’ll run away.

W. What makes you run late:  My Husband (see pet peeves)

X. X-rays you’ve had: My ankle in fourth grade, a bunch of dental x-rays, chest x-rays for pneumonia, my hand in 9th grade.

Y. Yummy food you make: “ Hi, I’m Chelsey. Welcome to my food blog. Enjoy searching through my “eat” tab.”

Z. Zoo animal favorites:  I have always loved the monkeys (we used to tell my sister we found her family when we would see them), tigers, and giraffes. The bats can stay away from me though.

Fun, right? It also gave me an excuse not to photograph my lamesauce dinner.  Consider yourselves lucky.

In light of fun and games, tell me something I don’t know about youI know you can’t resist it.

PS – Don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a chance to win a copy of The Real Food Diet Cookbook! Holy entries! I hope Random.org picks a low number because I’ll be doing a lot of counting! You have until Saturday night to enter!

I think you have the same facial features as your siblings, just completely different hair color! How funny! I agree with slow drives & slow walkers, they drive me crazy!

I am but it’s gotten a little “dirtier” as I’ve gotten older - I do highlights now, but it really gets light in the summer!!

You just reminded me that I had piano lessons too! I think I only went once because I said my stomach hurt and I wanted to call my Mom! haha Not my cup of tea!

Something you don’t know about me is that I also had pink as the color for our wedding. I only chose it because my husband used to bug me alllll the time to stop wearing black and wear something pink.
And I’m also 5’8″. :-)

I love this survey :)
I can’t stand people being late, and my man makes me late all the time. And he gets mad at me for making him early. Maybe we should start going places separately!

Move to FLORIDA!!!!!
Yet, the teaching positions are lacking down South…Just win the lottery.
When we hang out I PROMISE I will not be late. That is a big deal for me (0:

Lots of jobs for the hubbie down here though….just a thought.

Something you might not know? By June I intend to be vested in a quest to become a teacher…I have two degrees but not in education so I shy away from elementary..I think you need to know your stuff but maybe I can go back to school…till then? High School English.

Love it! Plus I thought you should know you’ve inspired me for the month of March to try out my own grocery budgeting. :)

I also must share how ironic it is to be a Chelsea with a mom named Donna too!

We’re the same age and same height! Yeah 23 and 5’8″ ladies…although I’m not going to lie, I definitely thought you were older. Too funny…

Something you don’t know about me is that I am fascinated with geography and maps. Nothing better than a bit of geography trivia! Haha.

Oh, and I’m horrible at geography.

I hate putting laundry away too … I don’t know why it’s so bad but I just hate it! It’s not like it’s hard at all either?? I don’t get it, but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s a reality.

Reply

Mackenzie March 3, 2011 at 11:29 pm

Yellow is one of my colors for my upcoming June wedding. Oh, and I HATE putting away the laundry too! It’s such an odd thing to hate, but I totally get it.

I used to play the clarinet and I hated it too. Confession: I was in the school band in middle school, but sometimes during practices and concerts, I would just pretend to play LOL!

Ditto to all your pet peeves, especially slow walkers. I have to deal with so many of them on campus! :P

I rarely comment but just had to chime in on this one…you TOTALLY look adopted! haha! The reason this struck such a chord with me is because my husband is 1 of 3 and his sister and brother look identical to one another (both dark hair, dark eyes) and then he is blond with blue eyes and is even built completely different. We tease him about it all the time! haha! Loved the survery and your spunkiness! :)
