october stitch fix

November 6, 2014

Eight months strong, and I am still loving Stitch Fix! If you have not heard of Stitch Fix before (which I am going to assume that you have…), here are all of the specifics on how the styling service works.

Did you  know that you can request a particular stylist that you like? I know that some people get a new stylist every month, but a while ago I requested to keep Lindsay. She styled my second or third box, and she has been my stylist ever since. I really like the same person pulling my items for me every month. Lindsay has gotten to know what I like and don’t like and has a better sense of what items I will like each month.

So, let’s see what I kept and what I decided to send back!

Please keep in mind that I never set out to be a fashion blogger… please don’t judge my makeup-less face and mirror pictures. 😉

Duran Mixed Material Leopard Print Top - $58

I absolutely loved this top when I saw a picture of it on my styling card and when I took it out of the box. However, when I put it on,  I was not a fan. I loved the style and the print of the top, but the cut was not flattering on my body. It was a little too short and wide for me, creating a short torso and boxy figure. RETURN!

Northridge Cowlneck Jersey Top - $68

I really liked this dolman styled top! The fit was flattering, and I could see myself wearing it with leggings or skinny jeans with boots during the colder months. I couldn’t justify a $68 price tag on a thermal material top though. RETURN!

Loreen Cowl Neck Belted Coat - $118

Such a cute jacket! I wished I was in the market for a new pea coat this winter, but I already have 3 (yikes!). I thought the price was quite spot on for a nice heavy coat, so if I needed a jacket like this, I would have definitely gotten it. RETURN!

Sherry Chunky Knit Fringe End Scarf - $48

photo 1 (20)

I loved this scarf that came in my fix to go with the winter jacket Lindsay sent me. I have a bunch of scarves though, and $48 for a scarf seemed a little steep to me. RETURN!

Benzer Heathered V-Neck Sweater - $68

photo 2 (16)

This was a sweater I could have seen myself wearing to work, and I really tried to like it. I wish the cut was a little slimmer though because I felt like it hung on my body. My other fashion decision maker vetoed this sweater, so back it went! RETURN!

As you can see, I didn’t actually end up getting anything from this box. Lindsay was spot on with a lot of the design/style of the items she sent to me, but some things were just too expensive or I didn’t need. I typically leave Lindsay a note for my upcoming fixes, so I always make sure to tell her exactly what I am looking to add into my wardrobe.

I still get super excited to see my Stitch Fix boxes on my front porch when they arrive!
