The first signs of spring sneak up on me every year.
Daylight Savings shows up, and suddenly I hear the bird chirping again. Somehow over the course of the winter, I forgot that birds existed. I also forgot that ants and bugs can make their way into my home and leave me feeling like I have something crawling all over me.
You know that big star in the sky that we revolve around? That would be the Sun. Everyone say it with me — SUN. It happens to give off heat. Did you forget about that? Yeah, I did too.
I find myself no longer Vitamin D deficient with a frown on my face every morning because the wind is whipping at my face. Oh no - there is dew on the ground, there’s a spring in my step, and I keep telling myself how badly I need a pedicure (and a manicure… and a facial.. and a massage. Heck, I’ll just take a whole spa day while I’m at it — HUSBAND? Are you reading? He’s not).
The coming of spring could be my most favorite time of the year. Okay, let’s get real. I say that about every season. Except winter — I will never say that about winter. I’m moving to Florida next year. Spring brings a certain smell — a freshness of dew and grass clippings, and of course, flowers.
Aren’t they glorious? Can’t you just smell those beautiful flower through the screen? They smell of apples, cherries, lemons, coconut, and blueberries.
