My video blogs are kind of like Pringles. Once you pop, the fun don’t stop!
I had quite an ordeal trying to set up my kitchen for this one, which I tried to explain in the video, but I’m glad I made it work.
In this video, I talk about how I make my overnight oats. However, I can’t take all the credit. The way I make my oats originated from Kath and Katie, so credit must be given to them!
I hope you enjoyed my camera awkwardness once again.
Question: What is your favorite way to prepare your oats?

I have a recipe on my site for overnight chocolate brownie protein oats. Super easy and that’s my fave way.
Or wait, I use oats in all my raw/nobake vegan cookie dough balls. THAT’S my fave way to use oats
I’m such a convert. I used to like the easy peasy throw ‘em in the microwave oats eater, but now I like them on the stovetop with vanilla or chocolate silk light. so delish and thick!
Another awesome video! I’ve only tried overnight oats once, and I didn’t cook them before letting them soak overnight…this way that you show sounds WAY better, I need to try them that way. My favorite way to make oats is just the old fashioned way on the stovetop!
I love overnight oats!!
I love this! I’ve actually never made overnight oats…I feel like that’s a sin in blogger world haha. I made oats this morning (normal way) with banana slices, peanut butter, cinnamon, and a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk- it was fabulous!
Im a recent overnight oat convert!!!! perfect for hot summer mornings
I need to try the vegan version of overnight oats using chia seeds. I’m not a big fan of the yogurt kind, and I’ve heard this one is better.
My favorite way to prep oats is to make steel cut oats on the stovetop and add in half a banana and an egg white. Argh, now I’m craving oats… again.
oatmeal and me = love. I would marry them if it was legal baha. I did a post on my way with oats http://lauren-whatlaurenlikes.blogspot.com/2011/06/adventures-with-oatmeal-likes-loves.html I have soo many different kinds that I love
How awesome is it that you changed outfits just for US…. pretty darn awesome!
I loved watching this video for quite a few reasons but find it quite funny that you and my sister have something in common. She hates the sound of a fork in a pan and especially a fork on teeth. Drives her crazy!!!!! (so I may or may not have done it on ‘accident’ quite a lot growing up) hahaha!
You’re so cute! You should see my shirt after washing dishes at the bakery. Water balloon fight.
Love your hair!
I dig your on camera awkwardeness!
I like them on the stove w cinnamon and pb on top - love it when you get a big melty spoonful.
this is awesome! i’ve been wanting to try overnight oats for ages, but they’ve always sounded sort of scary to me (scary oatmeal? who knew???) i will be making some immediately!! thank you so much for making this!
I love what you are doing with your free time these days.
hahahhaa …. when the phone buzzed, i thought it was mine!!! too funny.
i hate banana in my foods, but will try this recipe soon. thx
Great video! Thanks for explaining it because I never quite understood how you made them. I like doing my oats on the stovetop with frozen blueberries and raspberries (I will be using fresh now that they are in season and because I just picked a gallon of blueberries!!!). I also add at least 1/4 cup chopped walnuts! It gives it a great crunch. I drizzle with honey before I serve it. Yum!
Oh my gosh, you are adorable. With a capital A.
I loved loved loved your video post!! And you are such a sweetheart for mentioning me. But really, you are such a sweetheart anyways.
Plus, your first sentence? Funniest thing I read all day
.
half rolled oats, half oat bran, 2T chia, cooked on the stove with unsweetened vanilla almond or coconut milk, topped with nut butter.
BAHAHHAHAH loved it and when ur phone buzzed i totally thought it was my phone and I was searching all around me like ‘WHERE THE HECK is it buzzing from” for a solid 10 seconds!
Oh my gosh this is so funny! I JUST whipped up my very first batch (EVER!) of overnight oats when I got home. I should’ve checked your blog first, but I think I pretty much followed what you said so hopefully they turn out
My husband makes fun of me for getting my shirt wet every time I wash dishes. I have to show him this!
Love your vlogs! Very helpful too!
You know the other day I wondered how exactly you made your overnight oats, now I do.
okay you are way too cute! i also have to thank you a bunch for doing this particular video because i see EVERYONE eating these overnight oats and hadn’t yet ventured to make them myself. not gonna lie, i usually just use instant packets and do the micro-bit. i add a ton of water and cook them longer, they seem to fluff up pretty well but i don’t think i’m getting the full ‘growing’ potential so i wanted to do the overnight oats thing but really am super lame. so thank you, the step by step visuals have helped a ton!
Love your video and your downtime talk, you are so funny!
I use Katie’s trick, using the microwave. I love adding peanut butter blueberries and cinnamon too!!!
I love whipping a banana into my oats too!!! I love topping it with almond butter. Yum!
Scottish oats with banana and egg whites! Then topped with peanut butter, coconut, berries and pecans
I LOVE YOUR VOICE!!!
Overnight oats are in the fridge!! Can’t wait! I’ve never had them your way!
I eat ovenight oats all the time, but I usually just mix together equal parts of oats, milk, and Greek yogurt with 1/2 a mashed banana and stick it in the fridge overnight. Then I top with nut butter and sprinkle with chia seeds in the morning. I’m definitely going to try your method though because I LOVE volume!!
LOVE IT!! I loooove when you do vlogs!
Katie’s trick is my fave!! I still usually do hot oats on the stovetop in the morning, but when I’m feeling like overnight oats, I go straight to Katie’s method! And haha the Banana Guard shout-out made me laugh!! They’re so cool
That looks delicious! Check out my Chinese hot pot post at http://hongkongintern.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/hot-pot/
I’ll have to try your version of overnight oats soon. I’ve only made the overnight oats that you just soak in liquid without cooking them and I wasn’t a fan! Your videos are always so fun and I enjoy watching them!
I’ve never cooked my overnight oats…I use all the same ingredients and such except I just mix everything together and put it in the fridge. I dig it that way.
I really want to get into over night oats, what is the best kind of oats to get and use?
Any kind is fine - thick cut, rolled, oats, or quick cook oats.
oh loved the video…and I am so messy with dishes, wet shirts all around
do not eat oats much any more since having to eat gluten free, but do make a version of buckwheat groats overnight
I buy the gluten free oats from bob’s red mill! I love them!
This is so cute! love it! ill have to try it once i get settled
You are so cute!
And I LOVE that you have giant pots of cinnamon and vanilla - they are MASSIVE!
I had become extremely comfortable to disclose until this web-site.I want into thanks living in behalf of your time as part of his notice associated with this glorious
Pretty new to your blog!
I used to eat overnight oats all the time but then when I started cooking it stove-top, I couldn’t go back to overnight oats since it wasn’t as creamy or voluminous, as you say. Your method seems like a great option!
I love your hair, by the way!
The cut looks really good!
Thank you so much for sharing. I usually soak the oats over night with cinnamon, bee pollen and flaxseed and then heat them up in the microwave and then i add my toppings. I am trying your method tonight and it already looks really good. Like the video.
